Convoy moves into Paris, police fire tear gas

Paris police confronted the convoy, firing tear gas at protesters who exited stopped vehicles and climbed onto hoods of cars. Police, aware of the coming convoy, set up checkpoints around Paris. Officials said that they stopped dozens of vehicles entering the city and handed out 300 tickets. Some drivers, however, managed to skirt police checkpoints and enter central Paris.
