Shawn Walker is a commercial airline pilot who is risking his entire career to take a stand against what he sees as an “ultimatum” from his employer.

Like many others in the airline industry, Walker has been told by his employer, which he declined to name, that he must either get vaccinated by November 24 or face possible termination. Though he’s put everything into this job for years, he told Fox News on Tuesday that he values his freedom more than his career.

“My wife and I, we looked at the research, we spoke with our medical professionals, and we don’t believe it’s right for us,” Walker said. “We believe we have a choice, and we should have a choice. And so we’re going to continue working with groups like US Freedom Flyers to help all Americans who feel an ultimatum is not the right way to go about this.”

Walker added that he personally knows many of his colleagues feel the same way that he does.

“They’re scared,” he said. “Some of them are single dads, and they’re in a situation where they’re like, ‘Man, if I don’t succumb to this dictatorship, if you will, I may not be able to feed my children.'”

Walker pointed out that all airline employees, not just pilots, will be impacted by these vaccine mandates. He then warned that average Americans who choose to fly with airlines that have a vaccine mandate may soon be forced to show proof of vaccination in order to travel as well.

“There’s [sic] even bills on the table, like H.R. 4980, that’s really going after the passengers,” he lamented. “They’re trying to push something through that says all passengers leaving any airport in the US or territory is going to have to be vaccinated.”

Though Walker may lose his entire career next month, he sees this as a small price to pay when it comes to keeping his freedom.

“My health and my medical choice is more important to me than my career at this point,” he said. “People are frightened from the airline industry. They want to speak out. But there again, we can be attacked by our companies, we can be attacked by other people.”

Americans everywhere should be free to make their own decisions about whether or not to get the vaccine without having to worry about their jobs and livelihoods. We pray that Walker and his fellow airline employees manage to somehow keep their jobs without getting this shot.
