Bill Maher, a longtime liberal comedian who’s slowly been waking up for real (versus going “woke”) stunningly took a shot at radical Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s “tax the rich” dress during the latest segment of his HBO program.

Speaking late Friday on HBO’s “Real Time,” he noted that the rich are being taxed, to the point that they pay the majority of taxes in America.

“I wanted to show the picture of AOC wearing her dress because this got all the attention. … I just want to read [some stats]. The richest 65,000 New Yorkers out of eight million people pay 51 percent of taxes … so it’s not like we don’t tax the rich at all,” he correctly noted.

After some pushback from his guests, he conceded that “there are lots of things we need to amend about the capitalist system,” that “we have crony capitalism in this country” and that he’s “all for ending income inequality.”

But, he continued, “let’s not lie.”

“The rich pay a lot of the taxes. … I’m just saying, you wear tax the rich on your ass, and people are always saying the rich don’t pay taxes. They pay some taxes! They pay a big part of the freight already. I’m not saying it shouldn’t be more perhaps, but let’s not lie,” he said.

And therein lies the rub. The “tax the rich” and “the rich don’t pay their fair share” messages peddled by the likes of Ocasio-Cortez are predicated on lie after lie after lie, not to mention double standards and hypocrisy.

Listen to his remarks below:

The uber-wealthy, whom Ocasio-Cortez detests, at least pay their taxes.

Two years ago, a report emerged that the congresswoman owed nearly $2,000 in back taxes from a business she’d once owned and that she’d allegedly been ignoring tax warrants demanding payment of what she owed.

She’s one of many, many, many Democrats and left-wing activists who’ve been accused or caught trying to cheat the system.

That same year, she was busted for having failed to provide workers’ compensation coverage to her campaign workers during the 2018 election.

“The employer did not have the required workers’ compensation coverage from March 31, 2018, to April 30, 2018, and was issued a final penalty of $1,500, which was paid. This coverage is vital to ensuring workers are protected for on-the-job injuries,” a New York State Workers’ Compensation Board spokesperson told the media at the time.

So what drives people like her to hate the wealthy? One of Maher’s guests, radical LGBT activist Dan Savage, summed up their views by arguing that America has been “slashing taxes on the rich for 50 years” (FALSE) and that “the rich are richer now than they have ever been.”

“And the lie we’ve been told the whole time we’ve been cutting taxes on the rich was that if the rich just have the most money they can possibly have, we will all benefit, we will all have jobs. And it’s a lie, and it hasn’t come true,” he added.

What he said was false. Then-President Bill Clinton spiked taxes in 1993, and then-President Barack Hussein Obama repeatedly hiked taxes from 2009 to 2017.

“The 2010 Affordable Care Act ratcheted up taxes for the richest Americans while redirecting more than $16 billion to the poorest income bracket in the country,” The Washington Post celebrated in a 2018 report.

Clinton’s especially steep tax hike of 1993 “resulted in below-average post-recession growth and near-stagnant wages,” according to financial expert and commentator Liz Peek. This prompted him to reverse course and cut taxes two years later, which in turn “set the stage of the economic growth” the former president is most celebrated for, she explained in a recent column for The Hill.

The same thing happened with Obama’s tax hikes that the Post was so celebratory over.

“What was the reality for most Americans during the Obama presidency? Most lost wealth and their incomes fell, particularly for those at the bottom of the ladder,” longtime Democrat pollster Stanley B. Greenberg noted in a book published in 2019.

At the time, even PolitiFact, an extremely biased “fact-checking” organization, admitted that Greenberg’s remarks were “mostly true.”

Later on “Real Time,” Maher took another shot at Ocasio-Cortez over the nonsensical tweets she’s recently posted about the Texas heartbeat abortion law.

As seen below, the tweets are jam-packed with left-wing buzzwords like “trans,” “non-binary” and of course “patriarchal”:

Maher specifically slammed the congresswoman for being condescending.

“Maybe if the tone wasn’t like, ‘You morons who don’t know that men can menstruate and what two-spirit is, catch up!’ That’s what people hate,” he said.

“Maybe, you know, help us along. Explain. Don’t have this attitude like the part of the country that isn’t completely caught up with this is just moronic and ‘I can’t even bear to deal with you. Grow up,'” he added.

To be clear, men cannot menstruate and “two-spirit” is a gender term outside of biological reality. But because Maher is ultimately a liberal, he accepts these beliefs. However,  he apparently believes they should be “taught” to people in a kinder manner.

“I don’t know if she thinks it’s only Republicans are in that camp who don’t know what two-spirit is. But I think a lot of people are just learning about some of this stuff. And this is new!” he said.
