In what appears to be a purposeful show of disrespect, the Taliban reportedly flew a white flag with black lettering over the Afghan presidential palace during a ceremony this weekend.

Though the ceremony coincided with the launch of the Taliban’s new government, it’s strongly presumed it was scheduled specifically for Saturday as a show of disrespect, given as Saturday marked the 20th anniversary of the Sept. 11th attacks on the U.S.

“The Taliban’s new Prime Minister Mohammad Hasan Akhund raised the flag in a ceremony at 11 a.m. local time to mark the official start of work by the Taliban’s 33-member caretaker government,” the Associated Press reported Saturday afternoon EST, citing the terrorist group’s “multimedia chief.”

But that wasn’t the original story.

“The Taliban is considering inaugurating its new government on the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, Russian state media reports, in a move calculated to antagonise the United States weeks after its chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan,” The Telegraph reported Thursday, citing a report from the Russian news agency RIA.

“That report was amplified by the influential head of the RT channel and the media conglomerate that includes RIA Novosti, Margarita Simonyan, who said the symbolic date choice was deliberate,” The Telegraph’s report continued.

In a tweet posted that day, Simonyan reportedly wrote, “The inauguration of Afghanistan’s new government has been scheduled for 9/11. The Talibs are good not only at generating memes but also at trolling.”

The Russians are fairly close to the Taliban, so they would presumably know.

Earlier in the week, the Taliban formally invited Russia and several other allies — including China and Pakistan — to attend a ceremony oddly scheduled for Saturday.

The date seemed odd because the Taliban had already unveiled their new government days ago.

“Four days before the 20th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks that triggered the U.S. invasion of Afghanistan, the Taliban declared the restoration of their Islamic Emirate and named a new government, excluding other political forces and giving control of internal security to a U.S.-designated terrorist,” The Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday.

And so why wait so long to perform the ceremony? And why schedule the ceremony on the 20th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terror attacks?

It’s strongly suspected that the Taliban purposefully chose Sept. 11 to continue its mockery of the United States, a country already humiliated by the reckless, incompetent way in which its ostensible leader, President Joe Biden, chose to withdraw U.S. troops from Afghanistan.

The latter tweet referenced an Aug. 29th drone strike that the Biden administration claimed took out suicide bombers — but that it’s since been learned most likely took out a family of 10 innocent people, seven of them children.

Despite the president’s massive failures in Afghanistan — failures so shocking even his political allies have cried foul — his sycophants continue to fan his ego

Some of them, like the woman below, have even taken to defending the Taliban, claiming they’re all about “peace.”
