  6. In the purest form of socialism, there would be no state. The producers would decide if automation was desirable to be implemented, which would mean they would be deciding about themselves. Like the Luddites, socialists are not opposed to labour saving devices or devices that enhance safety, but are suspicious devices that would eliminate jobs.

  7. Socialism fails 100% of the time and Capitalism fails 99% of the people. What could work is a capitalist system paired with a universal basic income, so that entrepreneurial initiative is rewarded while no one is abandoned to poverty due to permanent unemployment from automation.
